During our bi-annual planning meeting in July 2008, we decided that our mission statement (the long winded one that no one could recite without referring to our handbook) needed a shape up. Having never been afraid to grab the bull by the horns, we tackled it, there and then.

We looked at a list of things we wanted to achieve as a business both short term and long term. We consulted different team members from different areas of the organisation. It soon became apparent that one of the major drivers for our success was the success of our clients. Our team agreed whole heartedly.

Just north of Australia Fair shopping centre and across from the Southport pool, you will find 2 hour street parking on Marine Parade and Cloyne Road, along with longer term car parking in the Gold Coast City Council car parks on Cloyne Road and Hicks Street.

Oxfam Australia
Oxfam Australia is part of a global movement of dedicated people working hard to fight poverty and injustice. Being lucky enough to experience the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast on a daily basis, the UPA team decided that last Christmas we would join Oxfam to assist in making someone else’s life a little brighter too. Partaking in programs such as Unwrapped will see UPA make an overall contribution of over $3,000 which will assist theatre groups in Vanuatu who travel the country and use drama and radio to address health issues as well as paying for the school fees for 1 year of Zimbabwean children who have been orphaned by AIDS. http://www.oxfam.org.au/

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
Each year the UPA team gets together to organise a feast fit for kings. Along with gearing up support from local businesses the team bands together to raise money for the Queensland Cancer Council. UPA has participated since 2006 and for every dollar raised by the team, UPA matches to allow our donation to go even further in the fight against cancer.

Daffodil Day
Also since 2006, UPA likes to show its support to the Queensland Cancer Council by purchasing a Daffodil Day pen for each of its team members. UPA’s donation contributed towards the $1.46 million that will be dedicated towards the Cancer Council Queensland’s research, prevention and early detection programs and support for cancer patients and their families.
